Talk Therapy

The term "talk therapy" describes the tip of the iceberg regarding what is shared in the course of a “traditional” session. It can mean so many things, from so many angles, the common thread between them being that verbal communication is the glue that holds the interaction together. For the purposes of distinguishing it from art therapy, we have oversimplified the heading of this page.

The first thing to understand about us is that we are interested in whatever therapeutic modality helps you or your loved one feel most “congruent.” Said another way, we will work with you in the manner that best helps your insides match your outsides.

(Of note as well is that Nina Hausfeld speaks both English and Russian fluently and is happy to conduct sessions in either language).

The flavors of talk therapy we use at Tea Cup vary. Ayal has a degree in Counseling Psychology and Art Therapy from Naropa University and is certified in Gestalt Therapy through the Gestalt Institute of the Rockies. Nina holds a degree in Counseling and Art Therapy from Antioch University and is certified as a Sex Therapist from the University of Michigan. She is also certified in Hakomi Therapy through the Hakomi Institute.
